Ashvin Raja, fondly known as Kumki Ashwin is a Tamil film actor and the son of film producer V Swaminathan of Lakshmi Movie Makers. Ashvin made his film debut portraying the student Paalpandi in SMS Rajesh's comedy film Boss Engira Bhaskaran. His performance in Prabhu Solomon's Kumki as an elephant herder alongside Vikram Prabhu and Thambi Ramaiah was also well received by film critics and had allotted sixty six days to the film for the shoot. Kumki is a musical adventure romantic drama film written and directed by Prabhu Solomon. The film's soundtrack composed by D Imman was commended by the audience and critics. The film marked the debut of Vikram Prabhu. The story revolves around a mahout and his trained elephant. Ashvin played Vikram Prabhu’s sidekick in the film which was produced by director N Lingusamy on his banner Thirupathi Brothers. The success of Kumki led to him being referred to ‘Kumki Ashwin’ henceforth. In 2013, he was seen in smaller roles, notably featuring in Naiyaandi alongside Dhanush and Thillu Mullu as a friend of the lead character.

Ashvin got hitched to his girlfriend Vidya Sri on yesterday on the 24th of June during the lockdown. Apparently, the couple have been dating for more than three years now and finally decided to get married with the approval of their parents. Vidya Sri is a practising doctor, who has completed her post-graduation in the US. It was a low-key wedding which took place in Chennai despite heavy lockdown restrictions. The couple restricted the crowd and tied the knot in the presence of their family members. Wishes have been pouring in from his friends from the film industry.

Ashvin Raja’s last appearance in movies was in Dhanusu Raasi Neyargale starring Harish Kalyan in the lead which released last year. Apart from that, he had two other releases two Dharmaprabhu and Jackpot in 2019. We wish to see him act in more prominent roles. We also express our hearty wishes to the couple on their new beginning. Here are a couple of photos from their wedding:
