Earlier today (May 27), actor Chandramouli of Kayal fame took to his official Twitter page to mention that his wife and television anchor, Anjana Rangan is constantly being abused and harassed through phone messages and Instagram DMs. Chandramouli tagged the official Twitter handle of Tamil Nadu Police and requested for necessary action to be taken. He also shared the mobile number of the abuser. Chandramouli's official tweet read, "I take this platform at times of pandemic seeking help from @tnpoliceoffl. +91-96557-12265 constant abusive vulgar harassment from this number and @instagram account to my wife. There’s already a cyber crime complaint against an abuser at the Office of the CoP, Chennai".

Anjana quoted Chandramouli's tweet and said that she has undergone a similar issue in the past, citing the resemblance of both the incidents. Anjana also added that she regularly receives several vulgar and abusive messages on her social media pages. Anjana tweeted, "Went thro a tough time couple of years back coz of the same issue and solved with the help of cyber crime. What bothers me is the resemblance! I get a lots of vulgar Dm’s which i block but these dm’s stand out and its scary!". This incident has created a huge buzz on social media and people have extended their support to VJ Anjana and Chandramouli.

We have seen several notable film and television personalities being at the receiving end of social media abuses and harassment in the past and let us now hope that the Tamil Nadu Police takes necessary action against the abuser.

Chandramouli and Anjana are happily married and they have a son named Rudraksh. On the professional front, Chandramouli is awaiting the release of his long-delayed film, Party, directed by Venkat Prabhu. He is also in talks for various other interesting projects and we can expect announcements about them in the coming days. On the other hand, Anjana decided not to venture into films, despite receiving several offers and she is one of the most sought-after television anchors in the industry.
