Vidya Balan's is all geared up for the release of her next film, Sherni, which will have a direct OTT release on the Prime Video platform. The film will be releasing on June 18, exactly on the same day as Jagame Thandhiram's premiere on Netflix. Sherni will be Prime Video's first big OTT release during this second wave of Covid 19 and the fans are eagerly looking forward to its release. Ahead of the premiere, the trailer of Sherni has now been released on YouTube and it has opened to fairly positive reviews from the audience. The trailer gives us an idea of what Sherni is going to be all about and it looks like an interesting story awaits us.

Vidya Balan plays a woman forest officer who leads a team of trackers and locals intending to capture an unsettled tigress while battling intense obstacles and pressures, both natural and man-made. A murder happens inside the forest area and Vidya Balan and her team need to find out the mystery behind that, as well. Vidya Balan is a highly efficient performer, as we all know, and Sherni seems to be a right film that offers her the scope to emote well. She leads the film from the front and her performance looks really good.

One of the other attention-grabbing aspects of Sherni's trailer is the visuals. The cinematography looks great and the natural colour tones add more authenticity to the story. Apart from Vidya Balan, the film also stars Vijay Raaz, Neeraj Kabi, Ila Arun, Sharat Saxena, Brijendra Kala, and others in supporting roles. The movie is directed by Amit Masurkar, who earlier made the critically acclaimed, National award winning film, Newton (starring Rajkummar Rao). Produced by Vikram Malhotra under the banner of Abundantia Entertainment, in association with Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar's T Series, the film is shot by cinematographer, Rakesh Haridas.

The story and screenplay of Sherni is penned by Aastha Tiku, while Amit Masurkar and Yashasvi Mishra have penned the dialogues. For now, check out the newly released trailer of Vidya Balan's Sherni here:
