Thalapathy Vijay’s Master is all set for its worldwide digital premiere, this week. Yes! You read it right! The film is going to release on Amazon Prime Video (who acquired the film’s digital streaming rights) this week and the news has created a sensational buzz on social media. The Vijay starrer will stream on Prime Video from January 29, coming Friday and it means that we are just two days away from witnessing the film legally from the comfort of our homes. It is said that this move has been made by the makers to facilitate the overseas audience who haven’t seen the film yet. Due to the Covid-19 situation, theatres are yet to reopen in several foreign countries and Vijay indeed has fans spread across the globe and this early digital release has been made for them.

Additionally, it is also said that Prime Video has acquired the film for a record price to stream it much earlier than expected. The initial deal was supposed to release the film on the platform, 45 - 50 days after the film’s theatrical release and that is the usual practice. However, Master will now arrive in just 16 days after the theatrical release and it is indeed a game-changing move. No one expected this development as the film was/is running with packed houses everywhere. A certain section of the audience and fans have expressed their disappointment over this early release since many of them had planned to watch the film in the theatres over the weekend.

Now that it is coming out on the OTT platform, they might not want to spend the money in a theatre and instead settle for watching it in their homes. At the same time, Master has already entered the profit zone (despite the 50% occupancy) and has turned out to be a good venture at the box office, thereby making the producer, distributors, and theatre exhibitors very happy.

Amazon Prime Video released an official press statement regarding Master’s OTT release on January 29 and the film’s lead, Thalapathy Vijay shared a few words about it. Talking in an official statement, Vijay said, “I am glad that the fans can enjoy the film on Amazon Prime Video in India and across the world. I am certain that the interesting duel between John and Bhavani will take the audiences on a roller-coaster ride of action, and drama,".

The film will reportedly release in over 240 countries on the said date. Get ready to witness Thalapathy Vijay’s Master from January 29, only on Amazon Prime Video.
