'Superstar' Rajinikanth recently celebrated his birthday, with Sun Pictures and director Siva announcing that the shooting for their upcoming film Annaatthe is once again resuming from December 15 at Hyderabad. The iconic veteran actor had taken a chartered flight on Sunday along with his daughter Aishwarya Dhanush, Nayanthara and other members of Annaatthe to resume the film's shooting. Pictures of Rajinikanth and Nayanthara arriving at Hyderabad went viral, with Sun Pictures now releasing yet another new photo of the superstar with his daughter Aishwarya at the Annaatthe shooting spot.

As no stills or photos have surfaced from the film's shoot so far, this is the first official glimpse of Rajinikanth from Annaatthe despite him and daughter Aishwarya seen wearing masks as per the COVID-19 protocols. Rajinikanth looks younger once again and his look will no doubt be a big delight for fans, who will be looking forward to the completion of the film soon now that production is set to resume from tomorrow. Director Siva is expected to present a packaged family entertainer on the lines of his last directorial Viswasam with 'Thala' Ajith which turned out to be a massive box office blockbuster. Rajinikanth's Annaatthe has been carrying tremendous hype ever since it went on floors towards the end of 2019 as the film includes several big names from South Indian cinema. Among those in the cast of the upcoming rural family entertainer, Rajini will be sharing screen space once again with actresses Meena and Khushbu Sundar. The film also includes Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, Soori, Sathish, Vela Ramamoorthy, Livingston, Redin Kingsley including Nayanthara, who is reported to be playing a lawyer, which incidentally will be the first time she will be seen in such a role. Apart from the star-studded cast, Annaathe also boasts of a stellar technical team among whom include names like D. Imman for the music, cinematography by Vetri and editing by Ruben. Although it hasn't been confirmed as yet, there have been reports stating that Keerthy Suresh will be appearing as Rajinikanth's sister in the film, while Telugu actor Gopichand has been cast as the antagonist. With the Annaatthe team all set to kick-off filming once again, expectations are that the film will come out in theatres sometime between the middle or the second half of 2021.
