Thalapathy Vijay who keeps his personal life under wraps came out of his way for a noble cause on Tuesday (August 11th) as he posted pictures of himself planting a sapling as part of the ongoing Green India Challenge. Vijay was nominated by superstar actor Mahesh Babu who himself planted a sapling on his birthday a few days back. The pictures posted by Vijay on his twitter page went viral in an instant and Thalapathy's gesture was the talk of the town as fans and celebrities showed their support on social media. Vijay thanked Mahesh Babu for nominating him to plant a sapling and Tollywood star returned the same. Celebrities taking such initiatives set a good example among their fans as they try to follow their role models. Following Vijay's gesture, his fans around the country also planted saplings on their behalf and shared their pictures on social media.

Notably, Mahesh Babu had nominated Jr NTR and Shruti Haasan along with Vijay in his post and on Wednesday, Shruti Haasan accepted Mahesh Babu's challenge and plant a sapling. The actress thanked Mahesh Babu for nominating her and as for her part, Shruti nominated, Hrithik Roshan, Rana Daggubati and her close friend Tamannaah to plant a sapling for greener India.

Posting a couple of pictures of herself planting the sapling Shruti Haasan wrote, "Thankyou @urstrulyMahesh and @ThisIsDSP for nominating me for the #GreenIndiaChallenge one more step toward a greener IndiaGreen heart I nominate @iHrithik @RanaDaggubati and @tamannaahspeaks."

 

On the other side, Shruti Haasan's Bollywood film Yaara released a few days back on the Zee5 platform and the film has been receiving positive responses from fans. Shruti Haasan is also part of some upcoming biggies Krack with Ravi Taja and Vakeel Saab with Pawan Kalyan in Tollywood and Laabam with Vijay Sethupathi in Kollywood.
