3 lives lost in Police-protestors clash as violence erupts in Bengaluru!

Bengaluru is one of the biggest tech hubs in India has people coming in and living there from all parts of the country! In recent times, Bengaluru has been in the news for the rapid surge in COVID numbers and most people began leaving for their hometowns to escape from being infected by the deadly Virus! However, a shocking incident has put Bengaluru in the headlines! Violence erupted in the city, after some derogatory posts about Prophet Muhammad surfaced on social media! This caused a group of people to raise up in protest against a certain MLA as it was his relative who put up these posts on social media. When the Police tried to stop the protestors, the situation reportedly turned violent!
The group of protestors attacked a police station as well as the politician's house and a number of vehicles were also torched! The Bengaluru Police took to Twitter to mention that the situation was now under control and also added that they were forced to fire live ammunition as the protestors failed to disperse despite using batons and tear gas and when they attacked the Police Station, they had no other way to control the crowd. The Police also stated that despite the community elders trying to pacify the mob, they refused to calm down and went on to burn vehicles on the road and proceeded to attack the Police station too! Three people are said to have lost their lives in the Police firing and now reports state that 110 people have been arrested in this case, under alleged vandalism and for attacking the Police!
Considered to be India's Silicon Valley, Bengaluru is a vibrant city but following this unfortunate violence, a Police official has revealed that an emergency law prohibiting gatherings had been imposed in the city. The MLA whose house was attacked is Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy, of the Congress Party. Some reports also state that the huge mob split into two groups and as one group attacked and ransacked the MLA's house, the other group went around forcing all businesses to close. The person who put up the offensive posts has been identified as Naveen, MLA Srinivasa Murthy's cousin and he has also been arrested. We also hear that the offensive posts have now been taken down. Officials from the State Government state that they would look into the CCTV cameras from surrounding areas and that appropriate action would be taken against all those involved in these clashes! However, amidst all these unfortunate issues, videos of a group of Muslims forming a protective human chain around a temple in the vicinity to prevent the protestors from damaging it.
