Produced by Eros International, Kaadan is a multilingual film which has been shot in Telugu and Hindi as well. While the Telugu version is titled Aranya, the Hindi version is called Haathi Mere Saathi. The film was initially supposed to release on April 2, 2019, but due to the unexpected outbreak of Corona virus, all the plans were scrapped and the makers waited for the situation to get better. Having said that, it has now been officially announced that Kaadan / Aranya / Haathi Mere Saathi will release for the festive occasion of Pongal, next year.
Kaadan has become one of the first Tamil films to come up with its new release date and it has garnered a good buzz on social media. The makers have revealed that the film will have a theatrical release since it demands such a viewing experience. Considering the grand production scale, the experience can be matched only in the theatres. Vishnu Vishal shared this news with a new announcement video on his Twitter page. Sharing the video, Vishnu Vishal wrote, "Amidst a global pandemic, our forests too have been fighting a growing pandemic of industrialization and deforestation! When will this stop? Save the date to watch this thrilling battle - #Kaadan & #Aranya releasing this Pongal/Sankranti 2021 at a theatre near you! The posters:)".
Theatres in Tamil Nadu are likely to reopen from November with 50% occupancy and the situation is expected to get better in the coming weeks.
