Hansika's next release in Tamil cinema will be Maha, which happens to be her 50th movie. Maha is directed by debutant UR Jameel, a former associate of director Lakshman. Silambarasan TR will be seen in an extended cameo in this movie and the fans have been eagerly looking forward to seeing him in the film. However, the film's release was delayed due to several reasons. Recently, a section of media speculated that the Madras High Court ordered a stay on the release of the film and this made the fans worried and confused. To clear the speculations, the makers of the movie have now issued a statement, clarifying that there is no truth to the ongoing speculations.

The makers have confirmed that Maha was completed in February 2021 and is ready for release. A few days before, Maha's director, UR Jameel filed a case against the production company (Etcetra Entertainment), accusing that the producers have shot a few scenes without his knowledge, under the supervision of his assistant director. The final judgement on the case is yet to be given and the makers have stated that the films release would be confirmed after solving the legal case. Additionally, they also informed that they would wait for the decision of the Madras High Court on the case.

Towards the end of the statement, the makers added, "We earnestly request all the fans of STR and Hansika to kindly bear with the situation and give us a little more time with the assurance that a grand launch of the movie Maha is being planned". This clarification statement would now give a better clarity for the fans and we hope all the cases are legally sorted out. While Hansika and Silambarasan TR would be seen in the lead roles, the film also stars Srikanth, Sanam Shetty, Thambi Ramaiah, and Karunakaran in supporting roles.

Produced by V Mathialagan under the banner of Etcetra Entertainment, Maha has music scored by Ghibran. For now, check out the official statement issued by the production house of Maha, clarifying about the film's release plans here:
