Actress Priya Bhavani Shankar's grandfather passed away on Friday, May 7. Priya took to her official Twitter page to share a heartfelt note mourning the demise of her grandfather. In her post, Priya Bhavani Shankar recollected the beautiful memories that she shared with her grandfather and it has made the fans emotional. Priya was all praise for her grandfather and she mentioned that he was a great father to his five children. He also made 8 out of his 10 grandchildren, doctors. Priya added that she was the odd one out among all the grandchildren, but who also got to spend some beautiful moments with her grandfather. Priya also recalled her last phone conversation with her grandfather.

Priya's fans and well wishers are expressing their condolences on social media. Sharing the heartfelt note on her Twitter page, Priya Bhavani Shankar wrote, "சந்தோஷமா போய்ட்டு வாங்க தாத்தா". Details regarding his death are yet to be known.

On the acting front, Priya was last seen in the Jiiva - Arulnithi starrer Kalathil Sandhippom. She has several interesting projects in her line up and all the projects are in different stages of production. She will be seen as the female lead in the SJ Suryah starrer, Bommai, directed by Radha Mohan. The film marks Priya's second outing with SJ Suryah after the success of Monster and the fans are eagerly looking forward to the movie's release. Priya is said to have got a very interesting character to play in Bommai which has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Priya also plays the female lead in Atharvaa's upcoming action drama, Kuruthi Aattam, directed by Sri Ganesh of 8 Thottakkal fame. Kuruthi Aattam is in the final stages of post production and is gearing up for release soon. Priya is also the leading lady of Raghava Lawrence's Rudhran, Harish Kalyan's Oh Mana Penne, Silambarasan TR's Pathu Thala, Ashok Selvan's Hostel, and the untitled Arun Vijay - Hari film.
