Director Prasanth Varma is known for making an impressive debut with Awe that starred Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, Regina Cassandra, Eesha Rebba, Murali Sharma, Priyadarshi, in the lead roles. The film was raved by the critics and the audience for its innovative premise and discussing complex themes. Post the success of Awe, Prasanth made Kalki with Rajasekhar, which received fairly positive reviews. Recently, the super talented director had announced his third directorial project which talks about Corona Virus. This film’s pre-look motion poster video had been released a couple of months back it got a positive response from the fans. The promo video created a curiosity among the viewers and it looks like Prasanth has decided to take up the pandemic situation as the premise of this film. Last week Prasanth Varma had announced the title of this film with a motion poster. This project has been christened as Zombie Reddy. Since, the film’s title represents a particular caste, a section of people had opposed and asked to change the title. Director Prasanth Varma has now issued a statement to clarify this issue:

“Zombie Reddy is an apt title for this film since the story revolves around corona, set in Kurnool backdrop. How people of Kurnool fight against the pandemic and save the world forms crux of the story. Though most people have liked the title Zombie Reddy, a few have misinterpreted it. The film does not target any particular community. In fact, every Telugu speaking audience would feel proud after watching the movie. I promise you that, the film won’t hurt sentiments of any community. You will feel proud after watching the film. Just like how I got national recognition for my first film Awe, I feel I will get international recognition with Zombie Reddy.” Prasanth Varma has emerged as one of the promising next-gen directors from Telugu cinema and we can hope for a quality product from him.
