Popular Tamil producer SK Krishnakanth passed away during the late hours of September 30. According to an official update, Krishnakanth breathed his last around 10.45 PM on September 30. He died due to a heart attack and the funeral has been announced to take place today (October 1) at 3 PM in Chennai. Krishnakanth produced notable Tamil films under the banner of Indian Theatre Production. Krishnakanth has worked with actors like Chiyaan Vikram, Dhanush, Simbu and others.

Some of his notable production works include Vikram's King, Dhanush's Thiruda Thirudi and Pudhukottaiyilirundhu Saravanan, and Simbu's Manmadhan. Among the four, Thiruda Thirudi and Manmadhan were big hits, especially the latter turning out to be a blockbuster hit. Despite being an ‘A’ certified film, Manmadhan managed to earn a good reception at the box office with the support of the fans and the youth. The film gave Simbu the initial breakthrough. Similarly, for Dhanush, Thiruda Thirudi gave him the initial breakthrough as a commercial hero after the success of Kadhal Kondein.

Krishnakanth has of late been out of production due to various reasons. The Tamil film industry is mourning his demise and people are sharing their condolence messages on social media.
