Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha will be director Gautham Vasudev Menon’s next release and the film has shown some good promise with its action packed teaser, which released a few months back. Produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International, Joshua features Puppy fame Varun and debutant Raahei in the lead roles. The film has music scored by singer Karthik. The makers had released the film’s second single, ‘Naan Un Joshua’ today (July 16) and it has opened to a fairly positive reception from the fans.

What came as a surprise in the video song was that the makers had a short 10 seconds teaser, introducing the villain of the film. Popular actor Krishna would be seen as the antagonist in Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha and he’d be locking horns against Varun in this spy action thriller. Gautham Menon took to his Twitter page to share this news and also thanked Krishna for being a part of the film.

He tweeted, “It’s also the time to introduce Krishna as the villain in the film Joshua.. Thank you @Actor_Krishna for agreeing to do this for me! In return, you are looking really good brother”. In the newly released video, we see a glimpse of Krishna’s fight sequence with Varun and it looks interesting. Krishna has already acted as an antagonist in Action King Arjun’s Nibunan and this will be his second film as a villain.

Krishna is known for acting in films like Alibhabha, Kazhugu, Yaamirukka Bayamey, Vanavarayan Vallavarayan, Yatchan, Yaakkai, Pandigai, Maari 2, etc. His last release was Kazhugu 2, which released last year, opening to mixed to negative reviews.

Joshua: Imai Pol Kaakha has cinematography by S.R.Kathir, editing by Anthony, art direction by Kumar Gangappan and stunt direction by Yannick Ben. The trailer showed some good promise and let us hope that the film turns out to be a notable outing for GVM and team. If things go well, Joshua can be the breakthrough film for Varun who is looking forward to make it big in Tamil cinema.

Apart from Joshua, Gautham Menon also has Chiyaan Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram which has been in production for a long time due to financial issues. The film is currently in the post-production stage and Vikram is expected to dub for his portions in the coming days. GVM will also be making a Tamil web series for Amazon Prime Video and it will have cinematography by P.C.Sreeram. For now, check out Gautham Menon’s tweet about Joshua below:
