These are already trying times for everybody with the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic outbreak! The Virus has already brought a cloud of fear everywhere and most people have been staying indoors, as per the guidelines issued by the government! However, the fear of the Virus doesn't seem to have affected a gang of robbers who have committed a heinous crime in Sivagangai district of Tamil Nadu! In a horrific incident, a gang of men entered into the house of an army man and murdered two women, before making off with 60 sovereigns of gold! This incident happened in the Mudukoorani village, near Kalaiyarkovil, in Sivagangai district!

A gang of armed robbers attacked the house of army man Stephen and killed his wife Sneha (28) and mother Rajakumari (60), when there were no men in the house. Stephen is currently serving in Ladakh and even his father - Santhiyagu (66), a retired army man, was not at home, when this shocking incident happened. Santhiyagu came to know of this, only after some neighbours alerted him about it, the next day. Thankfully, Stephen and Sneha's eight-month-old daughter who was also in the house during the incident, was left unhurt by the brutal gang! Preliminary investigations reveal that the gang entered the house after one of the ladies unknowingly opened the door for them.

A Police report states that Sneha sustained two cuts to her head while Rajakumari sustained multiple cut injuries on her body, including her head! The bodies of the two deceased were then shifted to the Government Sivagangai Medical College Hospital, for conducting autopsy! The gang of robbers is said to have attacked the women and then broken open a bureau at the house and burgled the approximately 60 sovereigns of gold kept there and also snatched a gold chain worn by the baby girl. Some reports state that Stephen's brother is also an army man and currently serving. As soon as reports of this deadly incident came out, the Deputy Inspector of Police (Ramanathapuram Range) - NM Mylvaganan and Superintendent of Police (Ramanathapuram) - V Varun Kumar, are said to have inspected the spot in person! Further investigation is ongoing in this case!

We sincerely hope that the perpetrators of such a ghastly crime are immediately caught and brought to justice!
