Leading Tamil actor Jayam Ravi on Friday featured in a COVID-19 awareness video on behalf of the latest initiative taken by the Tamil Nadu government. In the video, Jayam Ravi addresses the viewers and informs them on the protocols to be followed as per the instructions of the state government and health officials in order to keep away from the novel coronavirus, while also speaking about the do's and don'ts to be adopted to curb the spread of the disease. Jayam Ravi said, "I request you all to wear a face mask at all times. Doing this will not only protect us, but also others from getting infected. The face mask is for your own life's protection. Similarly, please adhere to social distancing and wash your hands regularly, including making use of hand sanitisers. Let us all unite to fight and defeat corona to protect each other. Let us create a Tamil Nadu without COVID-19. Let us protect ourselves and our nation."

Jayam Ravi's coronavirus awareness video comes after Sivakarthikeyan had earlier in the day appeared on video to speak about the same, while also informing the people to get vaccinated as soon as possible. It is to be noted that Jayam Ravi had sometime back made a donation to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's Corona Relief Fund along with several actors, directors and other film and TV personalities. Jayam Ravi's latest effort to extend his voice for TN government's fight against COVID-19 has once again fetched him appreciation from fans on social media. Watch 

On the work front, Jayam Ravi, who was last seen in Bhoomi, his landmark 25th film, is currently attached to Jana Gana Mana being directed by I. Ahmed of Endrendrum Punnagai fame. The upcoming film is a multi-starrer and includes names like Bollywood sensation Taapsee Pannu playing the female lead, followed by Chekka Chivantha Vaanam fame Dayana Erappa, Rahman, MS Bhaskar and others, with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Jayam Ravi is also a part of ace director Mani Ratnam's ambitious historical drama film, Ponniyin Selvan, which includes a massive star cast featuring names like 'Chiyaan' Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, including many others and is a joint production venture of Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banner with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman.
