Music director turned actor GV Prakash Kumar has completely wrapped up shooting for his upcoming film, Vanakkam Da Mappilei, which is directed by M Rajesh of Siva Manasula Sakthi and Boss Engira Baskaran fame. GV Prakash shared the update on his official Twitter page. Sharing the final wrap up group picture, GV Prakash wrote, "It’s a wrap for #VanakkamDaMappilei thanks @rajeshmdirector sir @SunTV and team @Actor_Amritha @Danielanniepope #dineshmaster @reshmapasupuleti #guru #siddharth and all the ads". Now that the film's shooting has been wrapped up, the makers will now shift focus towards the post production works.

Vanakkam Da Mappilei is the next venture from Sun Entertainment (a division of Sun Network) after Prasanna's Naanga Romba Busy and Vikram Prabhu's Pulikkuthi Pandi. While Naanga Romba Busy had its direct television premiere for last year's Diwali, Pulikkuthi Pandi was premiered for this year's festive occasion of Pongal. GV Prakash's Vanakkam Da Mappilei will be the next venture from Sun Entertainment and it is scheduled to have its direct television premiere for the occasion of Tamil New Year, on April 14. The film features Bigil sensation Amritha Aiyer as the female lead, while the star cast also includes the likes of Bigg Boss fame Reshma Pasupuleti, Daniel Annie Pope, Jaya Prakash, Pragathi, MS Bhaskar, Soundarya Bala Nandakumar, Anandaraj, and others.

On the technical side, the film has cinematography by Siddharth Ranganathan, editing by Ashish Joseph, and art direction by Suresh Kalleri. Very recently, the first single from the film was released and it opened to a very good reception among the fans. Titled as 'Tata Bye Bye', this dance number was crooned by actor Dhanush and his rendition turned out to be the USP of the song. Gaana Vinoth penned the lyrics for the song which is targetted at the youth audience. Vanakkam Da Mappillei is touted to be a fun filled romantic comedy that will be catered to all kinds of the audience.

Apart from Vanakkam Da Mappillei, GV Prakash has movies like Aayiram Jenmangal, Adangathey, Jail, 4G, Kadhalikka Yarumillai, Bachelor, Kadhalai Thedi Nithyanandha, Ayngaran, Selfie, and several other interesting projects, which are in different stages of production.
