Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s unexpected demise affected the entire nation and it made everyone emotional. He died by suicide at his house in Bandra, Mumbai, and his death has created an outrage in Bollywood. Though he might have left the earth so soon, his films will live on and his performances in films like Kai Po Che, M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story, and Chhichhore will always be special and memorable for the fans. For one last time, everyone would be seeing him in the upcoming Hindi romantic drama, Dil Bechara, which happens to be Sushant’s last film in his career spanning over 7 years. Dil Bechara is the official Hindi remake of the Internationally acclaimed Hollywood film, The Fault in our Stars and this remake is directed by Mukesh Chhabra in his directorial debut.

A few hours back, it was officially announced that Dil Bechara will directly release on Disney+Hotstar OTT platform on July 24 and the news took everyone by surprise. Though the speculation was going on for the past few weeks, the fans expected the film to have a theatrical release as a mark of respect to celebrate the star actor in the theatres. However, due to various reasons, the makers have decided to proceed with their earlier plan of releasing it directly on the OTT platform. Notably, this film will be officially available for everyone, even the people who do not have a subscription on Hotstar. This decision has been made so that everyone get to watch Sushant’s very last film and celebrate him.

Having said that, director Mukesh Chhabra took to his Twitter space to share an emotional note about Sushant and the film’s release. He wrote, “Sushant was not just the hero of my debut film as a director but he was a dear friend who stood by me through thick and thin. We had been close right from Kai Po Che to Dil Bechara. He had promised me that he would be in my first film. So many plans were made together, so many dreams were dreamt together but never once did I ever imagine that I would be releasing this film without him. There can be no better way to celebrate him and his talent. He always showered immense love on me while I was making it and his love will guide us as we release it. And I'm glad that the Producers have made it available for everyone to watch. We are going to love and celebrate you my friend. I can visualise you with your beautiful smile blessing us from up above. Miss you."

However, this decision of releasing Dil Bechara on OTT platform has not gone well among the fans who are expressing their anger and disappointment on social media. This film will have music scored by A.R.Rahman and this is going to be the legendary composer’s first direct release on OTT platform. Those who have seen The Fault In Our Stars would know the premise and mood of the film and it is indeed going to be very emotional and different to see Sushant in Dil Bechara. Get ready to witness Sushant Singh Rajput for one last time on your small screens from July 24. For now, check out director Mukesh Chhabra’s official tweet below:
