For the past few days, there have been wide speculations and reports doing rounds that Karthik Subbaraj’s directorial - Jagame Thandhiram will be released directly on Netflix streaming platform. The news created a massive buzz on social media and the fans expressed their disappointment regarding the same. The main reason for the disappointment was the film’s producer Sashikanth’s assurance to release the film only in the theatres. Producer Sashikanth did not sell the film to any streaming platform and waited for the situation to get better to release the film in theatres. He also assured that the film will release only in theatres.

In a surprising turn of events, Dhanush has now taken to Twitter to mention that he is expecting Jagame Thandhiram to release in theatres. Dhanush tweeted, “I am hoping for the theatrical release of Jagame Thandiram like the theatre owners, exhibitors, distributors, cinema lovers and most of all my fans. Fingers crossed”.

Going by his tweet, it looks like there is something brewing between Dhanush and the film’s producer Sashikanth. Reports suggest that Sashikanth has got a hefty offer from Netflix streaming platform and he is looking to sell it to them, but when Dhanush and Karthik Subbaraj wants the film to come out in theatres, let us see if there are any changes in the plan. With Thalapathy Vijay’s Master performing exceedingly well in the theatres and making record-breaking collections, we are sure that Jagame Thandhiram can also leave a similar impact at the box office.
