Earlier today (June 20), actor Ashwin Kakumanu who is known for his performance in Ajith’s Mankatha, opened up about the struggles that he’s faced in the industry. Being an outsider with no influences in cinema, Ashwin talked about how marginalisation happens in Tamil cinema. He said that all actors should be treated equally on the grounds of humanity and respect. His series of tweets have got a very good reception from his followers and well-wishers who are appreciating him for coming out and talking about it.

Up next, Ashwin Kakumanu will be seen playing a crucial role in Mani Ratnam’s historical epic, Ponniyin Selvan that features a stellar cast including the likes of Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, and others. Responding to Ashwin Kakamanu’s tweets about marginalization and nepotism, costume designer Vasuki Bhaskar said that there are many more Sushant Singh Rajputs existing in Tamil cinema, who put up a smile, despite not getting proper payment or recognition.

She also cited the example of Thala Ajith, remembering how he became a star from no one. “There are many a #SushantSingRajput in our tamil film industry who get no payment ,no support,no recognition yet they put a brave front n smile to e camera.few speak 2me few remain silent in pain 2suffer humiliation in a diff. form. To so many such, remember thala Ajith then n now”, tweeted Vasuki. While this tweet has gone viral among the fans, it has also shocked quite a few people after hearing that there are many more Sushant Singh Rajputs in Tamil cinema, as well.
