Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi made his Malayalam cinema debut with Jayaram's Maarconi Mathaai, which was directed by Sanil Kalathil. The talented actor is now geared up for his second outing in Mollywood and the official announcement of the project was made last night (November 3). Vijay Sethupathi will be acting in a new Malayalam film that is titled 19 (1)(a). Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen will be seen playing the lead roles while Indrajith Sukumaran and Indrans would play supporting roles. 19 (1)(a) is an Article of the Constitution of India which states, "all citizens shall have the right to freedom of speech and expression,".

Going by the title, it looks like the film will touch upon the freedom of speech and expression and a promising project seems to be on cards. This new movie will be directed by Indhu VS and it will mark her directorial debut. Getting strong performers like Vijay Sethupathi, Nithya Menen, and Indrajith in a debut film will definitely be a great motivating aspect for the young talent and we hope the film pans out well. 19 (1)(a) is produced by Anto Joseph under the banner of Anto Joseph Film Company and has music scored by 96 sensation Govind Vasantha.

The film will have cinematography by Mahesh Madhavan and editing by Vijai Sankar. The title look poster of the film was unveiled last night and it looks promising. The film's shooting is planned to take place in Kerala within the next few days and it is being planned as a quickie.

Vijay Sethupathi had recently wrapped up the shooting of his untitled next with Taapsee, under the direction of Deepak Sundarrajan, in Jaipur. As of now, Vijay Sethupathi has completed the shooting and waiting for the releases of 5 films - Master, Maamanithan, Kadaisi Vivasayi, Yaadhum Oorey Yaavarum Kelir, and Uppena (Telugu). He is currently said to be shooting for Delhi Prasad's Tughlaq Durbar which features Raashi Khanna as the female lead. Parthiban and Manjima Mohan play important roles. Vijay Sethupathi will also be acting in Vignesh Shivan's Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal that has Nayanthara and Samantha as the female leads. The shooting of this romantic comedy film is yet to begin. Vijay Sethupathi ventured into digital space recently with Mani Ratnam's Navarasa, the anthology film for Netflix. The Dharmadurai actor is a part of director Bejoy Nambiar's portion of Navarasa.
