In a shocking turn of events, an assistant director named R Rahul was found dead at a hotel room in Maradu, Kerala. During the early hours of Monday (February 8), Rahul was reportedly found hanging inside the hotel room. The Police officials have filed a case and are investigating the death case. The reason behind this suicide is yet to be known and the news has created a huge buzz among the Malayalam cinema followers. Rahul was working as one of the assistant directors in Prithviraj Sukumaran's upcoming film, Brahmam, the Malayalam remake of the blockbuster Hindi film, Andhadhun that starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in the lead roles.

Prithviraj took to his official social media page to offer his condolences to Rahul's family. Sharing a picture of Rahul, Prithviraj wrote, "Rest in peace Rahul! My prayers and condolences to family and friends! 🙏🙏🙏 #RahulR #AssistantDirector #Brahmam". More details regarding Rahul's suicide are awaited.

Brahmam features Raashi Khanna as the female lead, reprising Radhika Apte's role, while Mamta Mohandas will be seen in Tabu's character. Unni Mukundan is also a part of the film's star cast. Ace cinematographer Ravi K Chandran will be directing this film and the shooting is currently underway at Kochi. Sreekar Prasad is said to be handling the film's cuts. Brahmam marks Ravi K Chandran's return to direction after his debut, Yaan, that starred Jiiva and Thulasi in lead roles.

Apart from Brahmam, Prithviraj has several other exciting films in the lineup including Jana Gana Mana, Cold Case, Kuruthi, and more. There is also Aadujeevitham, which is said to be one of the biggest films in Prithviraj's career. Aadujeevitham has music scored by AR Rahman and is directed by Blessy. Amala Paul, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Soorarai Pottru fame Aparna Balamurali are part of the film's star cast.
