Blockbuster filmmaker Shankar posted a photo of himself alongside notable Tamil cinema names and penned a heartfelt statement on social media thanking iconic director Mani Ratnam for hosting a grand evening with all of them together. In the picture, we see directors Lingusamy, Karthik Subbaraj Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sasi, Mani Ratnam, Shankar, A. R. Murugadoss, and Lokesh Kanagaraj posing for the camera and all smiles and happy. Although ace filmmaker Vetri Maaran is not to be seen in the photo, his name has been mentioned by Shankar as a hashtag in the caption.

Posting the picture on Instagram, Shankar extended his gratitude to Mani Ratnam for the directors' day out with several of their peers in the Tamil film industry, while stating that it was a memorable evening to catch up and enjoy their time listening to Ilaiyaraaja and A. R. Rahman songs, which were performed by singer Karthik. He further reminisced how the moments spent together are equivalent to the wealth that they have earned over the years and thanked Suhasini Mani Ratnam for the warm reception. Shankar wrote in his caption: "Thank you Mani sir for this truly special evening! Catching up with these fine and celebrated filmmakers, sharing memories while making them, vibing to some evergreen #Illayaraja and @arrahman songs sung by @karthikmusicexp…I feel these moments are the true wealth that we’ve earned! The photo, which features some of the best and leading names in Tamil cinema, has received a huge response from fans online, as many have been appreciating the camaraderie the filmmakers share with each other, while also expressing their desire for them to collaborate on projects together. As stated by Shankar, the meeting was rather a casual one and it is unknown at this point whether there was any discussion between any of them regarding any possible future collaborations.
