It has been nearly three weeks since actor Kamal Haasan officially unveiled the name and symbol of his political party, Makkal Needhi Maiam.
Kamal Haasan has since been actively endorsing his political party to people from all walks of life like top former civil officials, entrepreneurs, scholars, teachers, weavers and so on.
Likewise, Kamal had met a group of senior doctors from Erode and Coimbatore regions yesterday with many of them soon after pledging their support by joining Makkal Needhi Maiam.

It must be noted that a sizable section of doctors across the state had taken to opposing Kamal Haasan back in 2004 over the release of his film, Vasool Raja MBBS, since they felt the film's title projected them in a demeaning light.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party President Tamilisai Soundararajan has now stated that she too had received an email to join Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam political party. She went on to query how actors who have not been able to revive the Tamil film industry could uplift the state.
We will now have to wait and see how Kamal Haasan responds to these statements.
