Contrary to reports that the ambitious project Dhanush-Vetrimaaran's Vada Chennai has put on the backburner, the director has clarified that the film is still on. It is now learned that the first schedule of the trilogy has already been wrapped up and the next schedule will kickstart in Chennai soon. Vetrimaaran also added that he will take his own course of time to complete the trilogy. The film will narrate the 30 years in the life of a gangster with Amala Paul as the leading lady.

Bankrolled jointly by Lyca and Wunderbar Films, it also stars Director Siva, Andreah, Daniel Balaji, Kishore, Samuthirakani, and others. Vijay Sethupathi will play an extended cameo while Andreah will appear as his wife. He will be playing a don. With music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, the film is expected to be a hi-octane action thriller.
