Kausalya opens up on how thalapathy vijay love for his wife sangeetha during priyamudan shooting - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Actress Kausalya garnered immense popularity during the 1990s starring in blockbusters alongside many leading Tamil cinema stars. Having hit the high note in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Nerukku Ner and Priyamudan, she also appeared in several notable films like Sollamale, Pooveli, Vaanathaippola, Eazhaiyin Sirippil, Manadhai Thirudivittai, Thirumalai, Santosh Subramaniam, Poojai, Natpe Thunai, and Hero. Kausalya, who also had a stint on television in the popular Sun TV serial Akka, recently sat down with Galatta for an exclusive interview to talk about the early days of her acting career, while also opening up about her shooting experiences with Vijay in films like Nerukku Ner and Priyamudan

Speaking about both Vijay and Suriya during the shooting of Nerukku Ner and whether she thought they would go on to become mass heroes in Tamil cinema, Kausalya said, "Yes, I felt that. I was taught about them since I didn't know Tamil at the time. I hadn't watched many Tamil films and had seen only Roja and Gentleman before entering the film industry. So, when I started out in cinema, director Vasanth sir had told me that Vijay is a very good star here. After meeting him only did I get to know how Vijay was working hard with Suriya. It was because of his hard work that he's been able to scale such great heights." She continued, "I first met him (Vijay) on the sets of Nerrukku Ner. He was very down-to-earth and used to be sweet during filming. He wouldn't scold or lose his cool when I used to take several takes during the shooting. He would help or remain quiet and guide me to keep communicating with the director."

Kausalya further went on to reveal how Vijay used to speak a lot about his wife Sangeetha when they were filming Priyamudan. She said, "He used to crack a lot of jokes. Once when we were shooting Priyamudan, we were traveling on a flight to Rajasthan. During the trip, he would talk about how he loved his wife. I don't remember all the details, but he was talking to me about it." Talking about how director Vasanth asked her to observe Vijay practicing his dialogue delivery, Kausalya said, "He would speak his lines out loud and I would usually keep quiet and repeat them in my mind. Vasanth sir then told me to copy what Vijay was doing and said that I'd be able to speak my dialogues correctly by following his method. Only after I started to copy him did my dialogue delivery get better for an important scene in the film."

Speaking about shooting for the 'Pooja Vaa' song in Priyamudan in Rajasthan, Kausalya revealed, "I experienced nosebleeds. Nobody had warned me prior that I wasn't supposed to be standing out under the sun, but S. A. Chandrasekhar sir soon after told the unit that the shooting be held in the morning before 11:30 a.m. and then resume after 3:30 p.m. due to the heat. He's such a gentleman."
