Naanayam music: An interesting album

S.P. Charan’s Capital Film Works is all geared up to entertain us again with Naanayam, directed by debutante Shakthi and starring Sibiraj and Prasanna. The plot, centred around a bank heist, promises to be a novel and fun adventure. While the movie will release in December, the music is out and is quite an interesting set of numbers composed by James Vasanthan. The album mainly consists of fun, peppy numbers that hint at the personality of the film.

The Naanayam theme songs sung by Ranjith have a nice rhythm with some heavy beats. The highlight of the album is 'Ka Ka Ka' sung by Devi Sre Prasad and Simbu. It’s an absolute fun song – with the lyrics and tune light and catchy. 'Kooda Kooda' is a solo sung by Sunitha Sarathy, a melody that for once does not have her touching the highest notes! She has rendered the entire song in a low husky voice, lending a certain sexitude to the number. 'Aasa Aasa' is the very peppy numberby Kannan, Mega and Ramya. The album is not without James Vasanthan’s signature melody; 'Nan Pogiren', a duet by S.P. Balasubramaniam and K.S. Chitra is an absolute delight to listen to. A soothing melody that just lulls the soul.
