Lakshmi returns with talk show

Veteran actress Lakshmi, who shot to fame in 1974 with her Malayalam hit Chattakari (1974), which was remade in Hindi as Julie and as Miss Julie Prema Katha in Telugu, is widely known as "South Indian Oprah Winfrey" for her popular Tamil talk show 'Kathaialle Nijam'. After a gap of decades, the actress will be soon seen again as the host of a talk show in Kannada titled 'Idu Katheyalla Jeevana', which would be very similar to her hit show in Tamil.

The show will go on air from June 22,�Monday to Friday on Suvarna channel. 'Idu Katheyalla Jeevana' aims to bring to light and discuss taboo subjects such as homosexuality, adultery, abuse at the work place, domestic violence and adolescent issues.

In each episode, a specific case will be chosen and those involved in the case will be featured on the show. It gives the audience a chance to�witness the many faces of truth and reality. The show also attempts to provide solutions.

Meanwhile, after a gap of more than two decades, Lakshmi is playing a role alongside versatile actor Kamal Haasan in his new bilingual film Unnai Pol Oruvan (Ee Nadu in Telugu). Lakshmi has played Kamal's love interest in many films in the past.
