Over the last few months, artist all over the nation is returning their awards to protest the rising intolerance. However, actor Kamal Haasan seems to have a different perspective. "I won't do it. That's my right. Returning awards will not have any effect... It is also necessary to be tolerant," Haasan said. The actor also pointed out that returning the award is equivalent to insulting the government and the people who gave the award. "Instead of returning awards, artists and writers should use the medium to raise awareness," the actor stated during the press meet of Cheekati Rajyam, the Telugu version of Thoongaavanam, in Hyderabad.
