Suriya is currently enjoying the success of his recent release Soorarai Pottru, which has garnered huge attention among the worldwide audience. The film skipped the theatrical release due to the global pandemic and released on Amazon Prime Video on November 12 and there has been no lookback since then. Soorarai Pottru released amidst huge expectations among the fans and it opened to highly positive reviews. Suriya's highly impactful performance as the ambitious Maara won the hearts of the viewers and he carried the entire film on his shoulders.

The film was directed by Sudha Kongara whose work received praises from all quarters. Not only the fans, but even notable celebrities from the film industry have also been sharing their love for Soorarai Pottru on social media.

On that note, actress Samantha took to her official Twitter page to express her opinion about the Suriya starrer. She claimed Soorarai Pottru to be the film of the year and was all praise for the entire team. Samantha's tweet read, "Film of the year #SooraraiPottru . What a gem @Suriya_offl #SudhaKongara @Aparnabala2 @PrimeVideoIN.. Outstanding .. just the inspiration I needed".

On the acting front, Samantha will be playing one of the leads in Vignesh Shivan's next directorial - Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal that will have Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi and Lady Superstar Nayanthara as the other leads. Produced by Lalit Kumar under the banner of 7 Screen Studios, this romantic comedy entertainer will have music scored by Anirudh Ravichander. The shooting of the film is expected to begin from this month. Samantha will also be working in director Ashwin Saravanan's (Maya and Game Over fame) next that will have Prasanna in an important role.

The Theri actress is also keenly awaiting the release of her digital debut - The Family Man: Season 2, in which she has played a negative role. The second season of The Family Man will stream on Amazon Prime Video very soon and the fans are eagerly looking forward to its release.
