It is that time of the day when the official numbers of the COVID-19 cases are released and here we bring it for you along with a comprehensive round-up of all the details! The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 4,666 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 665,930! Of these, 1,212 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 184,429! Kancheepuram has recorded 129 new cases and the district has now registered a total of 23,799, while 818 of them are currently active! Chengalpattu has recorded 39,870 total cases of which 2,066 are currently active and Thiruvallur has recorded a total of 35,179 cases with 1,512 of them being currently active. Coimbatore alone has recorded 398 new cases in the last 24 hours, while Salem registered 277 new cases and Chengalpattu recorded 252 new cases!
There have been 57 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 10,371. As of now, Chennai is the district with the most number of COVID cases recorded so far, in the state and has 184,429 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 43,239 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone stands at 13,704! There have been 5,117 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 612,320. There have been 85,509 new samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 8,488,503 tests, which is still the highest for any state in our country! 83,803 people have been tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people tested so far, to 8,246,830!
