It is a well known fact that Vijay's Nanban, which graced theatres on Thursday, received tremendous response from fans across the state. Though the film is a remake of Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots, Shankar has managed to adapt the script to suit Tamil audiences. The latest buzz is that Vijay TV has acquired the satellite rights of the film for a whopping price. Interestingly Nanban is also the first Tamil film to get tax exemption as per new government rules (the film has cleared the censors with a clean U certificate).
Nanban, directed by Shankar and produced by Gemini Film Circuit, also has Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana, Sathyaraj and Sathyan in prominent roles.
