Titled Kizhakku Africavil Raju, the pooja for a film on the iconic actor and former Chief Minister of Tamil, M. G. Ramachandran lovingly called by fans as MGR is underway at Sathya Studios in Chennai.

It must be noted that Kizhakku Africavil Raju never got filmed when MGR was alive and is now set to be made using motion-capture technology jointly produced under the Vels Film International and Prabhudeva Studios banners.

Meanwhile, actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are also in attendence for the launch of Kizhakku Africavil Raju.

Prior to starting to the event, Rajinikanth addressed the media. When asked if he would form an alliance with Kamal Haasan, Rajini stated only time will tell.

On Kamal Haasan’s official announcement of his political entry yesterday, Rajinikanth said he didn’t expect it, but conveyed his best wishes.

When the Superstar was asked what would be his course of action if elections were to be conducted in the next 6 months, the veteran actor replied saying he would definitely be up for it.

He further added that political parties these days are following MGR’s philosophies and teachings only to a relative extent.

As for Kizhakku Africavil Raju, the first clap for the film was by Rajinikanth with Kamal Haasan launching it.
