This is what director P. Ranjith has to say about the film!

Attakathi is a type of person you find in all places. In life, almost everybody is an Attakathi! Most of us say very astutely that we would do something, but when we execute it, we might goof up big time! All those who take such goof ups sportively, and are not bogged down by failures are Attakathis! This movie is just a re-telling of the savoury incidents in such a person’s life! Even people who just brag, give a lot of build-up to themselves, fall under this category! I chose this title for the movie, as I have done the  characterization, like it! In the movie, the hero’s nick-name is also Attakathi. I just want to give a feel-good movie, that people can relate to. There is a round-trolley shot in the teaser, which I hear is being used as reference material in an institute. It is really  heartening to know this. All our team members worked towards presenting just the common happenings  and nothing more. We are getting a lot of appreciation for our work.
