Radio jockey-turned actor RJ Balaji has charmed his way into the hearts of audiences in Tamil Nadu as a comedian, television presenter, cricket commentator and also as a director with his Mookuthi Amman, which had Nayanthara in the titular role. For a while now, it was being reported that Balaji’s next would be the Tamil remake of the smash hit Hindi film, Badhaai Ho, which starred Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role and came out in 2018. The family comedy drama turned out to be a success, with the film’s story revolving around the hero’s parents having a child in their old age.

With production on the Badhaai Ho Tamil remake already underway, a major casting has now been revealed as leading Tamil comedian Yogi Babu has joined the film and will be appearing in a guest role. The news was revealed by Yogi Babu himself on social media, with the Kolamaavu Kokila actor sharing a photo from the upcoming film’s sets resembling a hospital backdrop. Reports say the Tamil remake of Badhaai Ho is coming out under Valimai producer Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios and Romeo Pictures. Expectations for RJ Balaji’s next are quite high as he surprised everyone with his Mookuthi Amman, which fetched him praises from fans and critics.
