Everyone has been eagerly waiting for nearly 4 years for the release of KGF: Chapter 2. The upcoming film as well as its prequel has been the topic of conversation for a long time now. The moment is finally here as the sequel to its 2018 film is all set to hit the theatres on April 14. As a bonus, some interesting facts regarding the film have been divulged. It turns out that the movie which started the pan-Indian movie culture with its masterpiece of a movie that we have all grown to love was not even intended to be a pan-Indian film.

In a recent interview for Galatta Plus, Actor Yash found himself in conversation with renowned National Award winning film critic, writer, and former deputy editor of The Hindu, Baradwaj Rangan. It was during this time when Yash revealed that they (the makers) were not headstrong on making a pan-Indian film but just wanted to make a very big Kannada movie instead. He says he could not even think or imagine KGF being a pan-Indian film since at that time his biggest blockbuster had only collected Rs.50 crores. He goes on to say that the sole purpose of this project was to make something really big in their industry by reaching the potential of their industry first (their industry refers to the Kannada film industry). But determined to show the world what their industry is capable of, the cast and crew of the film gave it their all to make the movie as grand as possible. He also gives a big shoutout to the Baahubali series and its director, S.S.Rajamouli, for breaking the barriers and opening the gates to such kinds of universally appealing films.

The Kannada period action film is written and directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale Films. It is the second installment of the two-part series and is the sequel to the 2018 film K.G.F: Chapter 1. Apart from Yash, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon and Prakash Raj.
