Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and actor Vijay had a chance encounter on Wednesday at a wedding reception hosted by reputed film producer Kalpathi Aghoram. The sudden unexpected meeting between the statesman and the leading Tamil actor has taken fans by surprise as evident in the photos that are now taking social media by storm. As of now, the nature of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Vijay's meeting is unknown as they had come together and shared pleasantries during the wedding reception, and more details are expected to come out soon. Producer Kalpathi Aghoram along with Kalpathi S. Ganesh, Kalpathi S. Suresh, and Archana Kalpathi, the creative producer of AGS Entertainment, had earlier released the Vijay-starrer Bigil under Atlee's direction featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, which went on to become the biggest box office blockbuster of 2019.

Vijay's meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin took place after the actor had earlier in the day attended the launch ceremony of his next film, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 66. Blockbuster Telugu producer Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner kicked off the proceedings for the upcoming film, which is billed to be a family-centric story along the lines of Vijay's Poove Unakkaga and Thulladha Manamum Thullum, and will be directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Thozha and Maharshi fame.

Apart from Vijay being the biggest USP of Thalapathy 66, the film will see leading actress and the National Crush of India Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead. The youth sensation has often expressed her wish to work with the superstar and had made her Tamil cinema debut in Karthi's Sulthan earlier this year. Outside of his Thalapathy 66, Vijay currently awaits the release of his Beast, which will open in theatres on April 13. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar under the prestigious Sun Pictures banner, Beast is an action thriller and has Vijay paired opposite Pooja Hegde, with ace filmmaker Selvaraghavan cast in a pivotal role, while 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander has composed the film's music.
