India along with the rest of the world has been facing a tough time since 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic continues to rampage leaving millions affected. The Tamil entertainment industry over the past year as well has witnessed a number of high-profile names passing away, with 2021 already turning out to be a bad year after directors KV Anand and Thamira, comedians Vivek and Pandu, veteran actor-singer TKS Natarajan all passing away due to COVID-19 and various other health reasons. In another devastating news, popular serial actor, Kutty Ramesh of Vijay TV's Thaenmozhi B.A, passed away on Friday due to unknown reasons. 

Kutty Ramesh's demise was revealed by Vijay Television on their Instagram page along with a picture of the Thaenmozhi B.A actor and a caption that read, "RIP Kutty Ramesh". Fans have been paying their tributes to the actor, who played the character Subbaiah, father of the show's lead, Thaenmozhi, who is portrayed by Jacquline Lydia. Thaenmozhi B.A, which began its telecast on Vijay TV from August 2019, is still airing and enjoys a huge fan following, with many of the names on the show becoming household names across Tamil Nadu. 

A remake of the Star Bharat Hindi series Nimki Mukhiya, Thaenmozhi B.A has so far telecast more than 300 episodes, with the show also being streamed on Hotstar. Kutty Ramesh as Thaenmozhi's father has been an important part of the show and appeared in several episodes alongside the rest of the cast that includes names like Siddharth Kumaran, Usha Elizabeth, Ashritha Sreedas, Naveen Vetri, VJ Archana, Stefy Remigius among others.
