Blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Venkat Prabhu is all set for his directorial debut in Telugu as his highly-anticipated film, Custody, starring Naga Chaitanya and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles is all set for a grand theatrical release on May 12. Expectations are high after the huge response to the action thriller and the hit director leaving no stone unturned in putting a word out about the film, which revolves around the hero who has to make sure that the villain does not die. With promotions already underway and a grand pre-release event held at Hyderabad on Sunday evening, Venkat Prabhu imitated blockbuster Telugu films producer Dil Raju while hyping up fans for Custody.
Speaking at the Custody pre-release event, Venkat Prabhu said, "Style venuma style undhi, action venuma, action undhi, performance venuma, performance undhi, family sentiment venumaa, family sentiment undhi, enna venumo, ellaam undhi, mass venuma, mass undhi." Upon translation, the Maanaadu director's speech reads as follows: "Do you want style? There is style. You want action? There is action. You want performances? There are performances. You want family sentiment? There is family sentiment. Whatever you want, there is everything. Do you want mass? There is mass." Venkat Prabhu, who imitated producer Dil Raju at the Custody pre-release event, has since become the talk of the town, with videos showing Naga Chaitanya reacting with a huge laugh along with the crowd during the filmmaker's speech. Fans will know that Dil Raju had delivered a similar speech during the audio launch of 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu last year, which took social media by storm.

During his speech, Venkat Prabhu extended his gratitude to producer Srinivasaa Chitturi and Pawan Kumar for making Custody a reality, while also revealing that the film is the most-expensive venture he has done in his career so far. He thanked Naga Chaitanya for believing him and immediately accepting to do the role, while also appreciating the entire team for the hard work. Custody also releasing in Tamil includes an ensemble cast featuring Arvind Swami, Priyamani, Sarath Kumar, Sampath Raj, Premji Amaren, Vennela Kishore, Premi Vishwanath, among others in crucial roles, while 'Maestro' Ilaiyaraaja and 'Little Master' Yuvan Shankar have composed the songs and the background score.
