Ponniyin Selvan: 2 is one of the anticipated releases of this year. The film is the Magnum Opus of the iconic director Mani Ratnam who is known across India. Ponniyin Selvan: 2 follows the first part of the Ponniyin Selvan that revolves around the epic battle for the throne in the Chola empire. The two-part film is based on the five-part book series by well-known Tamil writer Kalki. Ponniyin Selvan Part: 1 was one of the blockbuster films of last year and is said to have collected over Rs.400 crores worldwide. The second part of the film is set to release on April 28 and is expected to smash the record of the first part. The films have music composed by Oscar Award-winning composer AR Rahman.

The makers of Ponniyin Selvan, Lyca Production and Madras Talkies, revealed the trailer and seven songs from the film in a grand event in Chennai on March 29. The first single from the anticipated flick Aga Naga lyric video was launched last month and received huge praise. Now, the makers have released the lyrical video of the Veera Raja Veera featuring Jayam Ravi and Sobhita Dhulipala. The song sings high praises about the Chola prince Arulmozhi Varman and the lyrical video show a gilmpse of the stunning visuals that accompanies the song. It ends with a shot showing the crown of the Chola empire being raised into the air. It has vocals by Shankar Mahadevan, KS Chithra and Harini and lyrics by Ilango Krishnan.

Ponniyin Selvan: 2 has a huge cast of Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Rahman and others in important roles. The recent glimpse release by the makers has further increased the anticipation of the film as the video shows the film will be visual treat with a great story. It is set to be released in a few weeks in theaters.
