Viduthalai Part: 1 is one of the hit film that was released in theatres on March 31. The film, directed by National Award-winning director Vetri Maaran, has won critical acclaim and is running successfully in theatres. The movie has the well-known actor Soori playing the lead for the first time and well-known directors Rajiv Menon and Gautham Vasudev Menon in important roles. ‘Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi is playing the role of Vaathiyar in the film that has created a huge excitement as the fans can’t get enough of him in the first part. The film also has music composed by Isaignani Ilayaraja. On the technical side, the film has cinematography by R. Velraj, Jacki/Jackson as art director and stunts by Peter Hein.

The makers of Viduthalai Part: 1 have now received huge praise from one of the leading actors in India. RS Infotainment, the production house that bankrolled Viduthalai, has posted photos with 'Superstar' Rajinikanth, saying he watched the film and appreciated it. The photos show Rajinikanth interacting with Vetri Maaran, the leading hero Soori and producer Elred Kumar. Actor Soori has also posted pictures from the meeting and shared an emotional statement. The production house stated “Viduthalai Part 1 was watched by the legendary actor Rajinikanth and blessed the team. A kind gesture indeed. Viduthalai Part 1 Mega Blockbuster, successful 2nd week. Rajinikanth has posted a statement saying "Viduthalai... A plot that Tamil cinema has not seen so far. It is an epic cinema. Viduthalai Part: 1 revolves around a newbie cop who has just been recruited as driver and posted in a forest region among indigenous people. The film has Bhavani Sre as playing the female lead, and has Ilavarasu, Chetan, Munnar Ramesh, Saravana Subbiah and others playing the supporting character. The film is loosely based on the short story Thunaivan by Jeyamohan.
