On the lines of Jyotika’s Ponmagal Vandhal, Keerthy Suresh’s Penguin, Yogi Babu’s Cocktail, Gayathri Raghuram’s Yaadhumagi Nindraai and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s Danny, Vaibhav starrer Lockup is also all set for a direct OTT release, during this pandemic phase. This action cop thriller will have a direct release on Zee 5 streaming platform on August 14. Vaibhav will be seen as a cop in this film and it looks like he has got to play a very intense character, unlike his usual roles. Vani Bhojan who made a very impressive debut in silver screen with this year’s superhit film, Oh My Kadavule will be seen as the female lead and she will be looking forward to continuing the success streak with this film as well.

Director Venkat Prabhu plays Vaibhav’s superior officer in the film and it looks like his role is going to be very interesting to watch out for. His relationship with Vaibhav is touted to be the anchor of the film. Shamna Kasim, Kaala fame Eswari Rao, ‘Black Sheep’ Ram Nishanth and others form the supporting cast. The trailer looks quite promising and is packed with a lot of intense moments. The suspense is maintained throughout the trailer and the answers will be unveiled on August 14. It looks like the film will deal with the life of Vasanth (Vaibhav) when he unexpectedly gets trapped into problematic situations.

The trailer has been released on the official YouTube channel of Zee 5 platform. Lockup is directed by debutant S.G.Charles, a former associate of Mohan Raja. Actor Nithin Sathyaa who has acted in films like Chennai 28, has produced this film under his banner, Shvedh Group. Arrol Corelli has composed music for this film. The trailer has opened to a very good reception from the fans and if the film is as promising as the trailer, then one can be sure of the film’s success. Lockup will be Zee 5’s 3rd OTT film in this lockdown after Cocktail and Danny (yet to release).

Since Cocktail did not manage to earn good reviews from the critics and fans, Zee5 will be hoping to turn the tables with Danny and Lockup and let us hope that both the films are good. Will Lockup live up to all the expectations? Well, let us wait until August 14 to know about it. For now, check out the trailer of Vaibhav’s Lockup here:
