Popular Bengali actress and Trinamool Congress MP Mimi Chakraborty, who had received a vaccine shot during the fake COVID-19 vaccination drive in Kolkata last Tuesday, has been ill since Thursday night. Following the news that the vaccination drive camp was a fake one, the organiser went on to be arrested, with Chakraborty since then reported to have been suffering from severe stomach cramps and a low blood pressure. It is to be noted that the actress-politician already has a sluggish liver and gallstones.

Mimi Chakraborty's doctors have now said that her illness might not be due to the fake vaccine after an investigation by the Kolkata Police revealed that it most likely contained Amikacin. The TMC MP's health condition has now been revealed to be stable and her creatinine and urea level in the blood is satisfactory as health officials reckon the cramps she felt in her stomach and the drop in blood pressure may have been as a result of an excessive amount of stress she has endured.

On Thursday afternoon, Mimi Chakraborty, who represents the Jadavpur constituency for Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress, appealed to the people urging them to maintain a state of calm if they have taken the vaccine along with her and not get into a panic mode. The Bengali actress had also stressed on Friday even after her illness that it might not be related to the vaccine, while informing that she was waiting for the results of a final lab test report from the KMC in regard to the vaccine contents. According to reports, it is being stated that Mimi might get a fresh vaccine shot upon the arrival of the lab test results.
