Jyotika is celebrating her birthday today (October 18) and wishes have been pouring in from all quarters for the talented actress. Jyotika has churned out quality performances through a variety of roles over these years and the social media has been flooded with wishes for her. Marking her birthday, Jyotika's next film has been officially announced and the first look poster has also been released. Yes! Jyotika has been signed on board to act in legendary Malayalam actor Mammootty's next film which has been titled Kaathal. This new film will be directed by Jeo Baby who earlier made the critically acclaimed film,

The Great Indian Kitchen. The first look poster of Kaathal instantly grabs our attention as we see a photograph of Mammootty and Jyotika together, with shades of nostalgia associated with it. From what we see, it looks like Kaathal will be a poetic love story that will be backed by strong emotions. The poster instantly grabs our attention and people have already started to look forward to seeing this movie. The casting choice of Jyotika is indeed very interesting and it is going to be exciting to see her share screen space with the legendary Mammootty for the first time.

Kaathal will be produced by Mammootty's Mammootty Kampany, in association with Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films. Kaathal will be shot by cinematographer Salu K Thomas while the music and editing departments are to be headed by Mathews Pulickan and Francies Louis respectively. Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria have written the story of this film which will have art direction by Shajie Naduvil. Kaathal will mark Jyotika's return to Malayalam cinema after 13 long years, with her last film being Seetha Kalyanam which released in 2009.

Jyotika was last seen in the rural sentiment drama Udanpirappe which opened to mixed reviews from the audiences. Her next film in Tamil is yet to be officially announced.
