'Thalapathy' Vijay will be coming out all guns blazing with the highly-anticipated Varisu, which is scheduled for a grand worldwide release in January for the festive occasion of Pongal. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Thozha and Maharshi fame, the upcoming film is billed to be a wholesome family entertainer and has been produced under Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, with music by Thaman. S. Varisu, which has been described as catering to family audiences the most, will also include plenty of action-packed moments, as suggested by stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan in an exclusive interview with Galatta.

Speaking about the action in Varisu, Dhilip Subbarayan revealed, "Vijay sir is always sweet. He is still the same person I saw in Theri. As a matter of fact, he keeps getting younger and I ask him what he does to look as such. He works a lot. What I like the most about Vijay sir is that I will do choreography for a fight scene at almost 80 percent and he will come up with a 200 percent output for the end result." Imitating Vijay's mannerisms, Dhilip adds, "He will do as we instruct during filming, but he also adds his own style to it and we immediately tell him to continue with it. He will think about the sequence as we are discussing and when we go to shoot, he will add his own touch to it at the last moment and that will turn out to be magical."

Vijay, who has mostly been seen in full-fledged action ventures over the years, will be appearing in a new avatar in Varisu, and expectations are high for the superstar to deliver yet another box-office blockbuster. The film has national sensation Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead and the ensemble supporting cast features the likes of Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Yogi Babu, Jayasudha, Shaam, Sangeetha Krish, Srikanth, Bigg Boss 4 fame Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, including art director D. R. K. Kiran, while SJ Suryah is also speculated to be making a special appearance.
