It's official - 'Thalapathy' Vijay has joined the leading photo and video sharing social networking service Instagram. The Tamil superstar is the latest to join the social networking platform and his arrival has been long-awaited by his ardent fans everywhere. With the actor coming on board Instagram, he now has official pages in two other leading social networking platforms - Facebook and Twitter. Jagadish Palanisamy, Vijay's manager and the co-producer of the actor's upcoming film, LEO, took to Twitter and shared the official Instagram page link of the actor on Sunday, April 2. Sharing a new photo of himself from the sets of LEO, Vijay addressed fans in his Instagram caption and wrote, "Hello Nanbas and Nanbis 😊" Check out the tweet below:

Vijay's entry in Instagram has come at a time when there are already several fan account handles, which have lakhs of followers, and we can expect the actor's official page to now rake in a huge followers count. It is to be noted that Vijay already has a follower count of over 7.8 million on Facebook, while his Twitter followers stand at more than 4.4 million. With his entry in Instagram, we can expect similar and if not a bigger follower count considering the actor has a huge fan base there as well. The actor's arrival on Instagram coincides with his shooting for his next film, LEO, being directed by blockbuster filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is the second venture the duo are collaborating on after the stupendous success of their 2021 box office money-spinner, Master. One major schedule of LEO has already been completed and the next leg of filming on the film touted to be a gangster action thriller is set to take flight in Chennai in the days ahead.
Announced to open in theatres as a grand Ayudha pooja release on October 19, LEO sees Vijay reuniting with leading actress Trisha once again on the big screen after 14 years and their chemistry will undoubtedly be one of the biggest USPs of the film, which also includes Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt cast the antagonist, followed by 'Action King' Arjun, Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Priya Anand, Mathew Thomas, choreographer Sandy among others, with music being composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
