With the Tamil Nadu Local Body Elections being held on Saturday with all the right Covid related arrangements made to ensure the safety of the public, it has brought forward a huge number of people forward in all the 38 districts across the state to over 31,000 polling stations to place their votes in support of their respective ruling party. The day also saw actor Vijay arrive at a polling booth at Neelankarai to cast his vote and his arrival drew a large crowd as witnessed in the visuals that are being telecast on television.

Vijay had arrived at the Neelankarai polling booth to place his vote. Leaving all his high-tier cars at home, he instead decided to come in his red Maruti Suzuki Celerio so that he does not attract too much attention. He was instantly spotted before he even got out of his car and was swarmed by fans and reporters. Vijay had walked in directly due to the large crowds that took immediate effect due to his presence at the venue. On his way in, he helped a reporter find his foot as he almost fell while trying to record footage of Thalapathy's arrival from all angles. Vijay being there garnered way too much attention and because of that reason, the actor had to struggle to make it past the crowd so he could cast his vote and leave as soon as possible to prevent any sort of commotion. On his way out, he even apologized for cutting straight through as all he wanted to do was place his vote like any other person and expressed his regret for the inconvenience that was caused.

On the work front, Vijay is currently awaiting the release of his highly-anticipated film Beast, which is set to open in theatres this April. Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, he will be seen acting alongside Pooja Hegde, while Selvaraghavan, Yogi Babu, and VTV Ganesh among many others are playing supporting characters. The release of the first song from Beast, 'Arabic Kuthu', has already gotten more than 50 million views on YouTube and continues to surpass expectations.
