Tanvi Shah in Snoop Dogg Millionaire

Every film person or pop artist is trying to capitalize on, or at least associate themselves with, Slumdog Millionaire’s Oscar glory. The latest is Snoop Dogg, the famous American hip-hop artist who recently coupled his West Coast rapping style with Punjabi bhangra in Akshay Kumar’s Singh Is Kinng. The renowned rapper has now sung├п┬┐┬╜‘Snoop Dogg Millionaire’ which features Tanvi Shah, the singer of the Oscar winning song ‘Jai Ho’ in Slumdog Millionaire.

On one side, A.R. Rahman is busy appearing in music videos of international pop stars and on the other, Tanvi Shah – a part of Slumdog Millionaire’s Oscar glory – is having her share of fame. In the last one month, Tanvi has received a few offers from Western pop artists, including Snoop Dogg.├п┬┐┬╜In the midst of├п┬┐┬╜her busy schedule, she collaborated with Snoop Dogg to make ‘Snoop Dogg Millionaire’.

Tanvi Shah’s beautiful voice forms the background for Snoop Dogg’s rap in this song. The song flip-flops between beautiful Tanvi’s voice and Snoop’s rhythmic hip-hop, with Tanvi herself rapping a few lines├п┬┐┬╜midway through the song. Snoop sings about how he beat the odds and became a millionaire. He ends this little biographical song in his typical cheeky style saying “give me the Oscar”!

PS: Not long ago, Pussycat Dolls remixed ‘Jai Ho’ with A.R. Rahman and the maestro even appeared in their video!
