Fifteen years of cinema have gone by and he’s not one bit bored. Instead he is all set to be born again. Come 2014 and Suriya is all geared-up to put his faith in the new generation of film-makers. "I want to change the way I work. I want to change the way I approach work. I want to work with a new set of directors. Next year, hopefully you will see this new me, I’ve already started listening to some stories," says Suriya with renewed enthusiasm.

"Lots of the young crowd know me only by Singam and such recent movies. Lots of the kids today call me Duraisingam even! They would have all been small kids when Nandha or Kaakha Kaakha had released. And I cannot keep going back to the glory of those movies. I have to connect with the younger crowd of today. That’s the idea," says Suriya. And how is he going to work that out? “By working with the fresh talent of today. They know how the youth of today think and they are able to cater to their needs. And it’s through them that I am going to connect with the kids of today."
