Suriya's Vaadivaasal with acclaimed director Vetri Maaran is a film that has excited the fans and film buffs ever since its first announcement. Considering the fact that both Suriya and Vetri Maaran are powerhouse talents in their respective streams, the fans are in for some solid treat with Vaadivaasal. It has been more than 2 years since the project was officially announced but it is yet to go on floors due to the prior commitments of Suriya and Vetri Maaran. Also, Vaadivaasal is a film that is being mounted on a large scale and so an extensive amount of pre-production is said to have been done.

Produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu under the banner of V Creations, this movie will have music composed by GV Prakash Kumar who has a great track record with both Vetri Maaran (Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Asuran) and Suriya (Soorarai Pottru). With that said, GV Prakash, in a recent Twitter live session, revealed some exciting tidbits about Vaadivaasal and it has set the fans in excitement. Talking about it, GV Prakash said, "Vetri Maaran is definitely one of the most successful collaborations I have had and we are currently working on Vaadivaasal. The composing for 2 - 3 songs are already over. It will be a raw folk-based album. The background score will also have a native, rustic touch to it".

GV Prakash's music is going to be one of the important assets of Vaadivaasal and his latest statement has already hyped up the fans. Vaadivaasal is based on the novel of the same name, written by CS Chellappa. The film is based on the sport of jallikattu and the relationship between a man and his bull. Director Ameer will be seen playing a pivotal role in this film, but the rest of the cast is yet to be known. R Velraj and Jacki will head the cinematography and art direction departments respectively. Vaadivaasal is expected to go on floors around June or July.
