Suriya is on cloud 9 after the astounding response to his long-awaited Soorarai Pottru, which premiered on the Amazon Prime Video OTT streaming service as a Diwali treat for fans. As in the film's story, Suriya and the entire team too had endured a lot of hardships in regard to the film's release, which skipped its theatrical outing and came out on OTT. The film, which was initially announced to premiere on October 30, released last week after a delay in acquiring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Indian Air Force (IAF), considering it revolved extensively around the aviation industry. Prior to the release of Soorarai Pottru, a delightful news was announced for Suriya fans that the actor would be collaborating once again with blockbuster director Gautham Menon for an anthology film titled Navarasa, which will stream on Netflix.

It had been announced that Suriya will be acting in Gautham Menon's directorial portion of Mani Ratnam's Navarasa, with legendary cinematographer PC Sreeram too revealed to have come on board. Furthermore, singer Karthik will be scoring the music for this particular portion in the web film. In that light, PC Sreeram on Tuesday revealed on his Twitter page that filming for Navarasa with Suriya and Gautham Menon has officially begun in Chennai. He tweeted, "Shooting for @menongautham - it's a web film starring Suriya. @Suriya_offl . Great energy on sets today!" It has also been revealed that the short film's duration will be around 30 minutes in the anthology film. Mani Ratnam's Navarasa marks the reunion of Suriya and GVM after their previous successful collaborations namely Kaakha Kaakha and Vaaranam Aayiram. Their partnership after a gap of 12 years has created massive expectations among fans and will be one among the several notable big USPs in the web film when it comes out on Netflix. It is to be noted that Suriya has been sporting longer hair for a while now, which he recently revealed was for Navarasa during the promotions for Soorarai Pottru

The anthology film Navarasa will consist of nine short stories, each one depicting a rasa. The nine directors on board the highly-exciting venture include Gautham Menon, KV Anand, Karthick Naren, Bejoy Nambiar, Halitha Shameem, Rathindran R Prasad, Karthik Subbaraj, Ponram and Arvind Swami.
